The Year 2020

In 2020 bereikte covid 19 (corona virus) Europa en ook Nederland. Dit schilderij heb ik afgemaakt tijdens de intelligente lockdown van Nederland. Eén van de maatregelen was alle horeca sluiten. Daarom besloot ik de tafel, waaraan het meisje zit leeg te houden.

I finished this painting during the covid19 intelligent lockdown in the Netherlands. All bars and restaurants were closed. That's why I choose to keep the table empty. The dark and brown background completes the scene.

Agafia Lykova

Na het zien van een video over Agafia Lykova, die alleen in Siberië leeft, wilde ik van haar graag een portret maken; als een soort eerbetoon aan haar.

Agafia Lykova is a woman who lives on her own after her family died in Siberia. I saw a video about her life and wanted to paint her. She is a special lady.

The Letter (De Brief)

Dit schilderij begon ik na de Schilder- en Tekencursus. Ik heb het af kunnen maken in 2020.

Joe

In de serie The Flash is Joe West de man, die de voogdij heeft over Barry Allen. Een inspirerende en mooie rol.

Joe West takes Barry Allen in his home after the boy has lost his parents. Barry Allen becomes The Flash. In season 2 Joe sings in a parallel universe called Earth 2.

Sleeping

Door het kopen van nieuwe kussens, kwam ik op het idee om dit portret te maken. Om het papier te beschermen is het ingelijst. De lijst is totaal 42,5x52 (hxb) cm.

I bought some new pillows and that inspired me to paint this with gouache. To protect the paper I framed it. The frame is total 42.5x52 (hxw) cm.
